I have this recurring dream where someone calls my name
Someone from long ago has come to me to stake her claim

No, I cannot spare a quarter
No, I won't be taking orders

You harlot from the past

I won't let you humiliate me
You can't intimidate me now 

I have this recurring dream where I call out your name
I came back from the dead for you but you were not the same
Looks like your face changed somehow
What can I do with you now?
I used to think I'd never measure up to be with you
When death was on my back I thought that love could pull me through
But things got f**ked up somehow
So, why did I come to you now?
I know life goes on without you
So why do I dream about you?
Just stay out of my life
I'll never be your wife
But when your name pops into my head
My legs go numb, the world goes blood red
I could sleep if you were dead now 

Don't think that you can use me
Don't act like you never knew me
Get out of my brain
You're driving me insane
Didn't meet your expectations
Used to be my inspiration
Where is that dedication now?
